I grew up with a silver birch tree in my garden. When my parents moved out of that house, I spoke with the tree and said goodbye. I felt we would see each other again somehow.
Congratulations on your book, and good luck with the release!
These photos are gorgeous! I love a birch tree. I'm really looking forward to your book, Olivia! How exciting to get it "out there". Wishing ease and joy in all that is going forward for you.
To answer your question…I remember as a young child (say 7/8yrs old) my mother having to bribe me with candy to get me and my younger sister to join them for mountain walks in the Austrian alps. Funny thing is it worked! And I think that is where my love for nature was born <3
Followed by my teenage years spent in Sweden where one could roam endlessly through forests without ever being fazed by a “private property” sign. After all, nature belongs to everyone!
Thank you Cristiana! And thank you for sharing your recollections. I can see where your love of nature has come from! What a joy to walk in the Alps and be able to have the right to roam in forests. It's the same in Finland too. And it's funny, I can remember being reluctant to go on walks in Derbyshire with my Mum, but so grateful for that now! xxx

Thank you Caroline!
The silver birch is such a beautiful tree to grow up with. Trees can become part of the family.
Good luck with the book - a great topic for sure.
Thank you!
Thrilled for you that your book is happening x
Thank you Becky! x
